War on stereotypes?

To comment on question about offender gay teacher. Why people always stereotype and ume that it is common for the gay community? It’s like saying that all straight people get divorce and remarry at least twice it their lifetime, or stating that all priests are child molesters? Or all republican senators are airport bathroom pirates?
