Does anyone know the details about spousal debt in Texas?

My husband has been gambling and hiding it from me for 6 months. He has aculated alot of credit debt without my knowledge to supplement this gambling activity. Does anyone know the legalities of this type of situation for Texas? My mother claims TX is a "community property" state, which means I am responsible for his debt as well. I thought this just pertained to loans that we cosigned together, such as for our home. Could someone please advise?
