Why is my self adhesive wall paper not really sticking?

ok so we are remodeling our bathroom and we bought some self adhesive wallpaper its not the kind that you peel and stick so we umed we just got it wet and put it on the wall but here it is several hours later and its not really sticking very well can anyone give me any insight as to what i may have done wrong or what i can do to make it stick
