Help, Replacing a PSU Fan?

Hello, My PSU fan makes a really low, buzzing...so i want to replace it. the fan is conneted straight to the board...i wanted to know if, i could just take a fan from a spare power supply...cut the cord midway...connect the wires...and cap it off?
